Food & Drink Pairings You May Not Think About!

Hey gang! We wanted to get straight to the point and just say this is a quick blog about a few food and drink pairings that you may not have heard of just yet! We thought we’d give you something other than the old “steak with cabernet” vibe!

Some of these may sound quirky…well they are! Really no other way to say it! Enjoy.

Fried Chicken and Champagne: This might sound odd, but the crispiness of the fried chicken and the bubbles in the champagne make for a surprisingly delicious pairing. The acidity and effervescence of the champagne cut through the richness of the chicken and enhance its flavors.

Dark Chocolate and Islay Scotch: Pairing dark chocolate with Islay scotch might seem unconventional, but the smokiness and peaty flavors of the scotch complement the bitterness of the chocolate. The combination creates a rich, decadent taste experience.

Spicy Tacos and Riesling: The sweetness and acidity of a Riesling can balance out the heat of spicy tacos. The fruity notes in the wine also complement the flavors of the taco toppings, such as lime, cilantro, and avocado.

Popcorn and Chardonnay: Pairing a light-bodied Chardonnay with popcorn might not seem like an obvious choice, but the wine’s fruity notes and subtle oak flavors complement the buttery flavor of the popcorn. This pairing is perfect for movie nights or a casual evening at home.
