Horse Soldier- Great Bourbon, Even Better Story!

It is truly an honor to carry Horse Soldier Bourbon on our shelves at Boone’s! The company was founded by a group of friends who banded together after years of serving our great nation! They took their passion and dedication from these years of service and turned it into a new quest- making award-winning bourbon for the people!

Their website proudly states that their team has “been involved in every major conflict since the Vietnam War.” Now that, in and of itself is extremely impressive and heroic. But to go onwards after that and found a company that is recognized as a powerhouse in its industry?That is a whole different level of awesome-ness.

The name Horse Solider comes from Special Operations team (ODA595), who utilized wild Afghan horses due to the mountainous terrain of the the region they were in. All of these men are honored today by America’s Response Monument overlooking Ground Zero in New York City.

The traditional Straight Bourbon Whiskey has notes of caramel, toasted corn, oak, cinnamon and adark fruit nose. The taste is fantastic with hints of oak, vanilla, nutmeg, some mild black pepper spice, and a light bit of honey. Good balance, medium body and a warm spicy feel. Delicious in a Manhattan or Old Fashioned.

The Signature Small Batch is 70% Corn; Yellow Dent 2, 20% Wheat; Soft Red Winter, 10% Barley; two row, combination distillers malt and base two row. Water from limestone aquifers are carefully filtered for purity. Grain, water, yeast and wood are added without additives or artificial colors.

The last bottle we carry, the Barrel Strength won’t last long! It is extremely complex with notes of vanilla, cherries and ginger. These small batches of blended mature whiskies are sure to thrill any whiskey-lovers palette.
