It’s National Sangria Day. Here are a couple recipes to use to celebrate today or for any of your holiday celebrations. You can be the hit of the party when you bring the good stuff!

Christmas Sangria

From Tablespoon

Ingredients

1 bottle (750 ml) red wine
2 cups pomegranate or cranberry juice
1/2 cup apple cider or orange juice
1/2 cup brandy
1/4 cup honey
Arils from 1 pomegranate
1 cup cranberries
1 green apple or green pear, chopped

Instructions

Add fresh fruit to a large pitcher. Combine all the remaining ingredients separately, then add to fresh fruit and stir to combine.
Refrigerate until cold. The longer the sangria sits, the more flavorful it will be. Prepare the sangria ahead of time if possible, up to a full day before serving.
To make this even more festive, add a fresh sprig of rosemary or thyme.

White Christmas Sangria

From The Chunky Chef

Ingredients

1 bottle (25 oz) white wine
1 bottle (25 oz) sparkling white grape juice or sparkling apple cider
3/4 cup cranberries, whole
1/3 cup cranberries, halved
1/2 cup seedless green grapes, halved
2 Granny Smith apples, cored and chopped
2 – 3 rosemary sprigs
club soda, to top off drinks
light corn syrup, for glasses
coconut flakes, for glasses

Instructions

Add all ingredients except club soda, corn syrup and coconut flakes to a large pitcher and stir to combine.
Cover and refrigerate 4 hours or more.
Drizzle some light corn syrup in a shallow bowl, and add some coconut flakes to another shallow bowl.  Dip the rims of stemless wine glasses in the corn syrup, then into the coconut flakes.
Serve the chilled sangria in the prepared glasses, making sure to get some fruit in each glass.  Garnish with another rosemary sprig if desired, and top each glass off with a splash of club soda for some extra bubbles!
